Marketing Assistant & Facility Coordinator

The Washington Apple Commission (WAC) is an agricultural commodity commission of Washington State charged with promoting Washington apples in foreign markets. WAC conducts marketing activities in over 20 countries to increase consumer awareness and brand loyalty for Washington apples.

WAC is seeking a full-time Marketing Assistant & Facility Coordinator at its Wenatchee headquarters. This is an entry-level position working in both the Admin and Marketing departments with potential for advancement. The position will report to WAC’s Marketing Manager for marketing responsibilities and to the Controller for facility coordination duties.

Primary Responsibilities

Marketing Assistant (approx. 60% of time):

  • Review invoices from international vendors to ensure compliance with WAC policies
  • Manage the apple grower database
  • Provide organizational and communication support for the marketing team
  • Generate shipper reports and learn to analyze market trends
  • Distribute market reports to industry
  • Additional tasks as needed

Facility Coordinator (approx. 40% of time):

  • Monitor buildings, grounds, and company vehicle for needed maintenance and repairs (no technical experience required)
  • Maintain facility and vehicle maintenance log
  • Warehouse organization
  • Manage office supply inventories
  • Schedule and interface with office service providers (IT, janitorial, landscaping, maintenance companies, etc.)
  • Manage the conference room and coordinate with conference room users
  • Additional tasks as needed

Compensation

  • $45,000-$50,000 annual salary DOE
  • Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB): Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, plus Life Insurance and Long-term Disability Insurance
  • Public Employees Retirement System (PERS): Pension and Deferred Compensation Program

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing skills for reporting and email communication

Additional Experience (not required but considered a plus)

  • Familiarity with the apple industry or agriculture
  • Database management
  • International work or studies
